Today…

Posted by: Jane E. Jones    in Information, News, Random, Uncategorized

Today is a little overcast and cool, but actually nice. One of those days where I could go out on the deck and write. And order in pizza so I wouldn’t have to cook, but seeing as how I’m on the diet from hell, I can’t be doing that. And that’s a shame, because pizza is one of my weaknesses :)

I plan on critting my friend Kiki’s ms, then settling in to write. I’m not sure if I’ll spend today mapping out the plot a little, or just writing what comes out. Maybe a bit of both.

I downloaded an application called Evernote last night; I signed up for the Evernote web app as well. I haven’t had time to figure it out yet, but from what I hear it’s a very handy program. If you want to check it out, you can find it here. I do love finding new programs for writers!

My writing exercise post is up at Textyladies. If you’d like to participate, I’d love to have you. :) Come on over!

I’ve posted this week’s writing exercise at Textyladies. I took out the 200 word or less requirement, so you’re free to write whatever length you feel like writing. Come on over and check out the photo! It may just inspire you to write something amazing.

Plotting Workshop!

Posted by: Jane E. Jones    in Books, Information, News, Uncategorized, Workshops

Today Jacquie Rogers is doing the first part of her four part plotting workshop at Textyladies. I’m so happy to say that she’s also agreed to become a Textylady and take over Mondays! She’s amazing, and we’d love it if you’d come on over and read her workshop. It’ll be extremely helpful if you’re a writer. She even has handouts!

Every Monday of November she’ll post another part of her workshop, so make sure you mark your calendars :)

Tomorrow I’ll post R.F. Long’s interview, so you’ll want to stop by for that as well.

Speaking of great places to go, why not check out Amanda’s blog, where she is posting weekly chapters of her book, Spirits Unveiled, for free! She already has eleven chapters of the book posted, so go on over and enjoy!

My Time of the Year

Posted by: Jane E. Jones    in Interviews, News, Off Topic, Random, Uncategorized

I started Christmas shopping already. It’s not even Halloween yet, I know, but if I don’t start early, it doesn’t get done! Besides, I love it! This is my favorite time of year, from now until February, things won’t be calm. Preparing for Thanksgiving and Christmas, joy! Some people think I’m insane. I also like moving. Now that I’m a homeowner, however, I’m staying put. Anyway, back to the holidays.

I’ve discovered that I’m getting a Dell Inspiron Mini 9 for Christmas. Now, gifts like this aren’t the only reason I love Christmas, of course. They do help a lot, however! I can’t lug my laptop–which I so love, by the way–around everywhere. But the eensy Dell, oh yeah. :)

****

I’m a little sad because I watched seasons one and two of Dexter on DVD, and do I miss it! I can’t wait to get season three on DVD, but it’s going to be awhile:(

I belong to a group blog called Textyladies, and today Pam has interviewed writer Tempest Knight. You can read the interview here.

On the writing front, I don’t have much to talk about. I’m working on several mss right now and actually need to get to one of them. I’m off!
