Reviews for Puppy Love

Review by Diana Coyle of Night Owl Romance

I found this to be such a charming tale that Ms. Jones wrote. The author tells the story of how two people, who were next door neighbors, didn’t hit it off very well from their first encounter together.

Sarah loves her dog, Casper Salt, very much and wants nothing to happen to him. Seeing how Michael took so well to the dog the first time he saw him and even picked him up to pet him, Sarah becomes neurotically overprotective of her precious dog. Unfortunately though, it was not as protective as she should have been because now Casper Salt is missing. Without even putting some serious thought into where the dog might be, Sarah immediately accuses Michael of stealing her beloved four legged friend.

If matters weren’t bad enough this far, when Michael leaves his house one night, Sarah sets out on a mission to break into his house to find and rescue Casper Salt. Little does she know the crazy kind of chaos she is going to cause by acting out her foolish scheme.

Ms. Jones did a wonderful job of entertaining me with Sarah’s wild antics. I immediately fell in love with Michael and felt terrible when Sarah accused him of being the dognapper just because he got along so well with Casper Salt. The author sprinkled humor throughout her story that made me laugh out loud. I thoroughly enjoyed this lighthearted story and I would definitely recommend it for others to read. Ms. Jones’ story will not disappoint you!

Reviews for Dancing With Johnny

I would love to share a book that I loved written by Jane E. Jones. You shouldn’t pass this one up!

Dancing with Johnny – 8 pages
Author: Jane E. Jones
Genre(s): Erotic Romance – Western/Cowboy/Indian/Texan
Review Date: 1/6/2009
Publisher: The Wild Rose Press
Street Date: Out Now

SCORE: 4.75 / 5 – Hearts

Annie Red faces a situation that could put her life in great jeopardy, especially since her brother-in-law is the sheriff. But it seems that her emotions are ruling her more than her common sense. Since she is a widow now, her life has changed drastically and she is now realizing her attraction that she is holding for Johnny Curtis, the sexy and dangerous looking long-haired drifter, is very real.

While he takes shelter in her shed she tries her best to hide his tracks in the dirt that he left behind. She knows falling for him is too dangerous because of what the town people are accusing him of, but she has a burning desire to be with him nonetheless.

Does Annie risk everything to be with Johnny, even for just one time? Does her brother-in-law find out where Johnny is hiding? Did Johnny really commit the crime he is being accused of?

Ms. Jones pens a fast-paced story with some powerful scenes that will make your heart skip a beat. The storyline is unique and has such emotionally tense filled moments packed throughout its few pages. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and wished it was much longer. You mustn’t pass this one up!

Reviews for One Night With You

Manic Readers Review

Shy Alice Abbot knows she can’t panic when she is stranded in her car one stormy night.  Hunkered down she is barely braving it out when Ronin Stryker knocks on her window.  After that fateful night Alice doesn’t know what to think. She can’t forget the man who helped her in her time of need, but she is too timid to grab what she wants and take it.

When Ronin shows up at her bookstore and decides he must have her, what is a girl to do but accept?  If she doesn’t, her cousin will.

One Night With You by Jane E. Jones is a fast paced quick read. I identified the most with Alice and easily recognized a kindred spirit.  I loved watching her struggle to overcome her inner turmoil while Ronin stomped all over her self-doubt.  I understood the conflicted relationship Alice had with her cousin and understood her emotions.  The only thing I would change about this book is its length.  I wanted more!  Mrs. Jones’ words pulled me right in and left me wanting more.  I will definitely be looking for Mrs. Jones next book!

From reviewer Brenda Talley of The Romance Studio:

Alice Abbot was plain. She was plain scared of storms. She had been her whole life. When a storm almost devoured her car, she pulled off the road and tried to wait out the storm’s fury. She was startled when a policeman knocked on her window. Officer Ronin Stryker took her to his patrol car in order to calm her fears.

Two days later, Ronin came into Alice’s bookstore and coffee shop. This time, Cassandra, her beautiful, sensual, aggressive cousin was there to make sure Alice’s self-esteem did not surface. Ronin invited Alicia to join him the next evening for a night of life-changing actions.

Ms. Jane E. Jones has done a good job of telling a sexy tale with a new slant on the plot. This work was fast-paced, entertaining and believable. Jones took an alpha male with an old connection to the town and a woman who felt so ordinary and invisible that she even allowed people to call her Alice (plain) instead of her real name, Alicia. Although there were several friends who surfaced frequently, the storyline revolved around this one couple and the interrupter, Cassandra.

I absolutely enjoyed reading this book. It’s a perfect pick-me-up when you need a jolt of sensuality. I recommend, highly, this book for all.

My first review from Fallen Angel Reviews, and I got a five angel review! My thanks to reviewer Rachel C.

Caught on the road in the middle of a thunderstorm, Alice pulls over to side of the road. When a cop pulls up and offers to wait it out with her Alice is more than relieved to have company. Especially one as good looking as he is. Sexier than he has a right to be Alice wishes she was brave enough to flirt. But she’s just plain old Alice, owner of a book shop; even if she did flirt he’d never be interested. When the storm passes, Alice leaves with nothing more than a first name.

Ronin isn’t about to let the sizzling attraction between them go. Two days later he offers Alice a walk on the wild side; one night with him to live out the adventure of a life time. Once Ronin gets her to his house and in his bed, he’s not about to stop until he unleashes the sexy woman he knows is hiding behind the plain exterior. Will one night be enough for Ronin to convince Alice to take the adventure for the rest of her life or will she hide behind the plain girl she’s always been?

What’s not to like about a sexy cop that comes to the rescue? Ronin is dark and mysterious and dangerous in ways Alice could never imagine. Alice is true to character, the shy woman hides a sexy siren waiting for just the right man to set her free. I loved her struggle with herself, how she badly wants to break free but she’s been the shy book worm for so long. It doesn’t help that her cousin Cassandra does nothing but point out how plain Alice is. Luckily for her Ronin sees through the outer shell and wants nothing more than to touch the woman beneath. Alice’s quirky little book shop holds some interesting characters, adding to the appeal of One Night With You. Jane E. Jones knows how to make sex sizzle. From bed to shower and back to bed, Ms. Jones has the pair burning down the house. For a quick read One Night With You offers a great read, with plenty of heat to steam up your screen.

From Diana Coyle of Night Owl Romance Book Reviews:
…This was a very enjoyable story for me because it pulled me in from the very first sentence. I loved Alice because everyone seemed to value her opinion and considered her a friend. I felt bad for her though that she lacked some self-esteem because she felt that she couldn’t get a guy like Ronin to like her the same way she liked him. The storyline was cleverly written and the characters were quite believable. Ms. Jones did a wonderful job with this story.

From LASR, Whipped Cream reviewer Hibiscus:

A storm hits, and a terrified Alice pulls off the highway to wait it out. She’s relieved when a cop drives up and offers to keep her company. It doesn’t hurt that he’s probably the sexiest man she’s ever met.

Not the type to flirt, let alone ask a guy out, Alice lusts after him quietly and wishes she had enough confidence and courage to act on her desires. But the storm passes and she drives away, sure she’ll never see him again.

Ronin, however, is not about to let Alice slip away. Sensing the inner vixen who’s dying to get out, Ronin coaxes her into his bed for one incredible night of the hottest sex she’s ever known.

Now that Alice has had a taste, one night with Ronin has left her craving more. Can she allow herself to enter a relationship based on unbelievable sex, or should she return to her safe but boring life and pretend it never happened?

♥ ♥ ♥

Who could know that an irrational fear of storms would lead to the shy caterpillar emerging as a sexy butterfly? Definitely Officer Ronin Stryker. He is the perfectly polite and helpful officer on the chance meeting with Alicia Abbot.  The air crackles with sexual tension in the police car as they wait for the storm to pass.  A bracelet is the excuse for a second meeting.

Alicia is a reserved business woman who does not believe she is beautiful or sexy. She is the owner of a bookstore. I could easily relate to hanging out in the bookstore with a group of women, chatting about family and books. I loved the chanting by her crew of women in the store. It reminded me of a Nike ad.

We have the obligatory beautiful relative, who’s sole purpose is to do nothing but point out how plain Alicia is and make plays for Ronin.

Ronin is experienced. Alicia is full of doubt and her belief in her self is hard for her to build. I liked Alicia’s journey to the discovery of her beautiful and sexy inner person. The book has a few twists and is written in a way that keeps you hoping that Ronin and Alicia will meet again and again.

Reviews for Beauty’s Beast

I just read a really great e-book by Jane E. Jones from The Wild Rose Press. Beauty’s Beast is an engaging erotic read utilizing the theme of the classic fairy tale Beauty and the Beast. I thoroughly enjoyed this tale. The writing was tight and I loved the sensuality displayed between the Beast, Alexavier, and his Beauty, Holly. The twist at the end was unexpected but very welcomed! I recommend this book to all my friends!

From Night Owl Romance reviewer Diana Coyle:

…Who is Alexavier Verrada? Why did Alexavier not come and ask for Holly’s hand in marriage himself? Why was Holly chosen out of all her sisters? Did they know who Mr. Verrada even was?
I loved this story by Jane E. Jones. It reminded me of a fairy tale in some ways where a poor girl gets rescued by a handsome and rich suitor. I instantly fell in love with Holly and I sympathized for her because of her mother’s treatment toward her. I wanted *** to be the one who married her, but in the end I saw how she better suited ***. The story was very entertaining from start to finish and I would definitely recommend it for others to read. Don’t pass this one up!

Diana gave Beauty’s Beast four and a half stars!

Beauty’s Beast
by Jane E Jones

Holly is a beautiful young woman who cares for her family, and works hard to help them. From a young age she realizes that her mother has no real love for her, so Holly sneaks off to the woods to dream and  to watch the town’s beast from a distance.

Alexavier Verrada is a man with power and wealth. He decides he wants Holly, and sends a loyal servant to fetch her to be his bride even though he is a beast.

Holly and Alexavier come from different worlds, but Alexavier figures Holly desires him since she has watched him as a child, but he is unaware of Ristan, the man Holly loves.  Holly goes to Alexavier to give her family a better life.  She has been instructed not to react to Alexavier’s appearance in any way. Holly does as she is told, and she feels Alexavier’s passions. Slowly she lets her guard down, and realizes that she loves Alexavier, beast or not. Then one day she discovers that due to a curse Alexavier and Ristan are the one and the same.  Holly now has to decide which one lives or dies.

Beauty’s Beast is a beautifully written story that pulls you in.  It makes you realizes that looks don’t matter, but what is inside is important. The characters in this story hold you captive making you love them. You also feel their pain.

From LASR, Whipped Cream reviewer Lotus:

Beautiful Holly thinks she’s found the man who loves her, but Ristan continues to insist they meet in secret, refuses to marry her, and hides from the night. Unsure of his past, his life, and his love, she is forced into a situation that will bring her love from another man; a cursed, tortured man named Alexavier whose own beauty is hidden beneath a hideous exterior.

Abandoned by Ristan and living in a lonely castle with Alexavier, she is astounded by her immediate attraction to the Beast—his rough touch and scorching kisses leave her trembling and aching for more.

When Ristan returns, Holly realizes where her heart truly lies and discovers a secret that may cause her to lose the Beast forever.

Really, can there possibly be a fan of erotic romance who doesn’t love Beauty and the Beast? The Beast is the archetypal erotic hero—dark, dangerous, and enslaved by his animal nature. The only surprise there can be when you see an erotic re-telling of this story is that it doesn’t happen more often. Jane E. Jones seems to have written Beauty’s Beast with fans of the fairy tale firmly in mind.

The heroine, Holly, is utterly ordinary, and reacts to her adventures as any red-blooded woman would, rather than being somehow repelled by the raw sex appeal that the Beast is capable of. She doesn’t shy away from her love for both Alexavier and Ristan, and makes her choices based on that love. Ristan is an unfortunately underdeveloped character. Meant to be pretty and petty, he comes off as a cardboard cut-out, and it’s difficult to imagine Holly actually falling in love with him, as opposed to just being rather in lust with him. Alexavier is everything the Beast always has been: passionate, sensual, and desperate in his love. I haven’t the foggiest why Holly sees a dilemma in choosing between the two of them, but then I’m not Holly. Maybe Ristan is really, really pretty.

The language the characters use is inconsistent with the “long ago” setting. One wonders if this was a deliberate choice—in order to make an earthier, less precious version of the story—or if the author could not keep things “in character.” This is something to be aware of about this book: there’s really nothing exceptional about Jones’s writing, but the depth of creativity and emotion in her telling of the tale make it worth the read. If you’re not convinced, then here’s one more thing: in this version of the old, old story, our Beauty at last, at long last, gets to have her showdown with the stupid pretty prince who is worthless if he means the loss of the beast. Personally, I had been waiting for that for a long time. If you have too, or if you’ve simply always thought that the prince was just, you know, boring in comparison to the Beast, read this one. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
