Finally, finally, I decided on the title for my current WIP. Thanks to my friends Steve and Kiki, this wip and title search have been really fun.
I haven’t yet written a blurb or synopsis, but will soon. Ugh, the dreaded synopsis.
Anyway, my original goal was 55000 words; I’m now over 58000 and think it will be wrapped up at around 60000.

Less than ten thousand words left on the wip! I’m so close, I’m going to spend the day writing and hope to have the book finished in a couple of days. Since I tend to edit a lot as I go, I won’t have a huge lot of editing to do before I can send it in. Clean it up, send it in. My crit partner has been reading the book as I write it, and giving me heads up on mistakes, ideas, and being an all around terrific beta reader and crit partner.
And still, I have no title. Why the heck am I having so much trouble naming this one?

I’m now at 40,009 words. I posted a word meter on my website, because I like seeing the progress. 73% done with this novel!
I put up a post at Textyladies today from a writer named Fae Sutherland. I know her from Divas, and what she wrote in her ‘letters’ were things I’ve thought to myself a thousand times. She agreed to let me post it, so come on over! If you’re a writer, leave a comment telling us about your experiences.

Yesterday I wrote 3,302 words on my current ms, which puts me at 30,636 words. I’m aiming for around 55,000, so I’m getting closer. If I keep up this pace, or anywhere near this pace, I’ll be ready to clean it up and send it off soon.
I’m really enjoying writing this one. The words are flowing, the ideas are endless, I’m not stuck; of course, my crit partner helping me brainstorm has a lot to do with that
One thing that’s bugging me; I can’t come up with a title I like! Generally I get the title very close to the beginning, or I find it distracting. Gotta have that title. But with this one, the right title just isn’t coming to me.
Maybe later tonight I can put up a blurb and excerpt, and someone will have a title idea that will grab me.

Today I posted a writing exercise at Textyladies, so if you want to give it a go, I’d love to have you!
For getting the most click throughs to ManicReaders, they’re giving me three one month ad placements on their site! You can visit my page there by clicking on the ManicReaders link in the second sidebar. There’s a bio, a couple of manicreader reviews, info on my books, etc.
I got the news yesterday that my ms won’t be picked up by the publisher I wanted for it. The news wasn’t bad, though, just that they have trouble moving Fairy Tales, and hope I’ll submit something else to them soon. I’ll definitely be doing that!
I’m in the middle of an erotic shifter that I think will be a better fit for them. I’ll have it finished before the month is out, I hope! I just have to write, write, write.
The fairy tale I’ve already sent to a pub that publishes a LOT of fairy tales, so we’ll see. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear something.
Off to get that word count…

I still haven’t heard about the submission. Have I mention how much I hate waiting?
At Textyladies I’ve posted a bookplate tutorial. If you’re a writer who wants to make some bookplates to sign and send to fans, you’ll want to check it out!

Warm one day, cold the next. Ugh! At least tomorrow is supposed to be better. Today is very gloomy and gray, cold and rainy.
Tomorrow I’m going to go visit my brothers graves. They’re buried next to each other in our family cemetery. My step brother is going with me.
I got a nice email from an editor letting me know that she was recommending to management that my latest submission be accepted. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I so want to get with this publisher!
I’ll let you know as soon as I hear if they’re taking it or not.
