We’re just coming through quite an ice storm. Luckily my power was only off for one night and part of a day, but there were so many whose power is still off! My mom is here right now because her power isn’t back on, so she has no heat in her house. I am SO ready for this winter to end. I always thought I’d never move to a place with mild winters, but this one has changed my mind. I don’t like winter so much anymore. I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to associate winter with good things again. Not just because of the ice, of course, but everything that’s happened this winter. I miss the sun. The brightness of summer, the days that don’t end at five thirty, the warmth that chases away the dark, dreary skies. Soon.
