Sanctuary Contract!
I just realized I didn’t really update here after writing that I wasn’t going to do NaNo. I’m doing NaNo after all because things worked out that way. I’m writing a book I titled Strange Familiar, an erotic romance about a witch and the shock she gets when she realizes her Familiar isn’t a cat like she’d thought it’d be.
Also, great news about Sanctuary! I received a contract offer yesterday from Loose Id, and am very, very happy about that! With a release date of April, 2010, I’ll have plenty of time for NaNo, Sanctuary edits, and concentrating on Etsy as well as the other books I have right now in submission.
I’ll keep you updated:)

Jaguar’s Claim — Ellora’s Cave
A groom in lust, an unwilling bride, one night of dominance both won’t forget.
Tanesha did the sensible thing when her Brazilian family arranged a marriage of convenience to another jaguar shifter. She made a run for it. Now living a cushy life as a call girl in Manhattan, she lost her virginity and her desire to have a lifelong mate in the same second. Up until the crashing stock market robs her of all her savings. Broke, she considers returning to Brazil.
Danilo, bitterly scorned when his virgin bride escaped from under his nose, is none too pleased to hear of her plans to return to Brazil. Gone is his desire to marry, even if a promise given still binds him. Seeking her out, he brings one million dollars, a leather cat-o’-nine whip, and the heated determination to settle a score.
And on her knees—the smacking sound of leather against her bare skin—Tanesha fights against surrendering to the carnal attraction toward the shifter she once scorned.
Keeping Kai
I’m getting closer to finishing Keeping Kai, my newest book. I was going to join NaNo this year, until I realized the trial will begin November 2 and NaNo starts November 1. The last thing I’m going to be thinking about is NaNo…
I’m off to watch Monster’s Ball again; I’ve watched it before but a very long time ago.
I hope everyone is having a great night.
Rewrites
Between watching the US Open and doing rewrites on Sanctuary, I haven’t gotten a lot else done! The rewrites are coming along, and then I’ll start on rewrites of Shifter.
I made up a lot of different things for Etsy to have a little shop going while I was doing rewrites, because I knew I wouldn’t be making anything else for awhile.
I’m off to put on headphones and listen to music while I finish rewrites on Sanctuary, which, by the way, I’ll be putting out under the name Cassidy Hunter.
Catching up:)
Hi everyone:)
I hope you all had a great 4th! The last couple of days have been gloomy and wet here, so I’ve been writing quite a bit. What else can one do on a rainy day?:)
I really want to get Sanctuary wrapped up in the next few days so I can start on the new book.
Anyway, for those of you curious about the giver of flowers, come on over to my website. I’ve posted a photo
Sequel
I’ve started the sequel to The Shifter’s Heart, and have titled this one early; The Shifter’s Hope. I have some interesting new characters for it that I’ve really eager to write. I hope it’s as fun to write as the first one was. And I hope it goes as smoothly!
Today at TL I’ve posted a writing prompt. Give it a try! We look forward to seeing what you come up with.
I’m also updating my website nearly every day and love visitors! Come on over for updates, news, helpful links, and more…
Sent!
I wrote the synopsis for The Shifter’s Heart and submitted it along with the finished MS to Loose Id today! Now, the waiting…
In the meantime, I’m going to do some Spring cleaning, get caught up on my laundry, and when that’s all done, I’ll start something new while I wait to hear back about TSH. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
Kiki has asked me to co-host a week at her blog with her, the details are on my website. Check it out! It’ll be a very fun week and we hope you’ll join us
The Shifter’s Heart
Finally, finally, I decided on the title for my current WIP. Thanks to my friends Steve and Kiki, this wip and title search have been really fun.
I haven’t yet written a blurb or synopsis, but will soon. Ugh, the dreaded synopsis.
Anyway, my original goal was 55000 words; I’m now over 58000 and think it will be wrapped up at around 60000.
Closer…
I’m now at 40,009 words. I posted a word meter on my website, because I like seeing the progress. 73% done with this novel!
I put up a post at Textyladies today from a writer named Fae Sutherland. I know her from Divas, and what she wrote in her ‘letters’ were things I’ve thought to myself a thousand times. She agreed to let me post it, so come on over! If you’re a writer, leave a comment telling us about your experiences.
Countdown
Yesterday I wrote 3,302 words on my current ms, which puts me at 30,636 words. I’m aiming for around 55,000, so I’m getting closer. If I keep up this pace, or anywhere near this pace, I’ll be ready to clean it up and send it off soon.
I’m really enjoying writing this one. The words are flowing, the ideas are endless, I’m not stuck; of course, my crit partner helping me brainstorm has a lot to do with that
One thing that’s bugging me; I can’t come up with a title I like! Generally I get the title very close to the beginning, or I find it distracting. Gotta have that title. But with this one, the right title just isn’t coming to me.
Maybe later tonight I can put up a blurb and excerpt, and someone will have a title idea that will grab me.
New Review
I got my first review of Puppy Love yesterday and posted it on my website. Have a look!
