Jane's Bio
Like most writers, I started writing from a young age. I have no idea what happened to those early attempts, but continued to write as I grew older; first with pencil and paper, then typewriter, and finally my favorite, my laptop computer;)
The books I read as a child were varied, but the one constant was Nancy Drew. How I loved those books! I read anything I could get my hands on, but I was only allowed to read children's books for a very long time; I remember sneaking my first Harlequin Romance back when they were VERY tame, and my mom catching me reading it. I didn't do that again for awhile! Well, at least not at home ;)
When I got older and could read anything I wanted, I discovered Jude Deveraux and Kathleen E. Woodiwiss. I even named my puppy Aislinn after a character in The Wolf and the Dove!
I also discovered Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Robert McCammon, Jeffrey Deaver, and more recently, Tess Gerritson, Laurell K. Hamilton, and many, many more.
I spent some time in business school, which I really did not like, and my years in a university were spent studying enjoyable subjects like Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, Photography, and English, and less enjoyable ones such as Math, and...well, Math!
My hobbies are singing and songwriting (I have CDs that I've recorded), drawing, surfing the internet, reading, making ATCs, playing video games and watching movies.
My days are spent either writing down notes in one of my many notebooks, working on one of the manuscripts I always have going, or working on the publicity aspect of writing, such as blogs, a personal website, networking, and getting myself 'out there.'
I write romance, fantasy, fantasy romance, and erotic fantasy romance. Is it hard work? Yep. Is it fun? Incredibly! I wake up in the morning thinking about my characters and their worlds, and always start the day anxious to get back to writing. I also spend a lot of time at other writers websites, checking out their blogs and links, and books.
My home is in Ohio, where I live with my two children, my golden retriever poodle mix named Chloe, and three goldfish named Jack, Archie, and Lucy.
